Repairs

Our established links with local parts suppliers mean that once your fault is diagnosed we can offer a competitive and timely repair service on all makes and models. Working on industry standard book times for repair times we are able to provide an accurate estimate at the time of enquiry. All parts removed are available for examination upon collection of your vehicle.

Brakes

Your brakes are probably the most important part of your car. Brakes aren't something to play around with. If your car is having a braking problem, whether it's weak brakes, a mushy pedal, grinding sounds - whatever your brake problem, you need to repair it as soon as possible.

We'll help you diagnose your braking problem so you know what repairs are required.

Clutch

There are four parts to a clutch system;

  • clutch plate or drive plate which has all the friction material attached
  • the pressure plate or clutch cover clamps the clutch plate to the flywheel of the engine
  • the release bearing is an extension of your foot, when the clutch is depressed the bearing is pushing on the clutch pressure plate releasing clamping force of the clutch plate letting you change gear
  • the hydraulics or cable is the connection between your foot and the release bearing

Should you find your cars revs are climbing and your car is not moving as fast as it should then your clutch plate could be slipping.  If the pedal becomes harder to push the bearing might be seizing on the input shaft of the gearbox.  If the pedal biting point is very low to the floor the pressure plate may have collapsed.

These are just some of the symptoms your vehicle may have, if you have any concerns we are able to diagnose the problem and get you back on the road.

Cambelt

The all important cambelt that keeps the engine running, it is imperative this is replaced according to the manufactures specifications. Failure to do so could result in valve to piston interference which will cause major engine damage and result in costly repairs.

Recommended intervals for changing varies greatly between models and makes, to ensure this is not overlooked we will advise you during your service when your cambelt is due.

Exhaust

One of the most important parts of any vehicle, the exhaust system is responsible for both removing exhaust gases and controlling levels of emission. Made up of two main parts, the exhaust and the catalytic converter, we are able to replace or in some cases repair only the necessary sections.

A fault in the exhaust system will potentially be hazardous to the driver and passengers as the engine fumes may be harmful.

An ineffective system will also affect the efficiency of your vehicle causing it to use more fuel and create illegal levels of emission or noise.

At Autologik we are able to assess the entire exhaust system and pinpoint your fault. We offer a welding service meaning where possible we try to repair, rather than replace exhaust sections, saving you money.

Suspension

Responsible for a comfortable ride and good handling the suspension is a fundamental part of the vehicle.A suspension fault will usually present as a knocking, banging, bouncing or lopsidedness to the vehicle. If left unattended it can increase stopping distances, affect handling and/or cause increased/uneven wear to tyres.

Years of experience provides Autologik with the knowledge to identify which part of the suspension is at fault.
