Tyre Replacement and Wheel Alignment

Are your tyres putting your life at risk? Incorrectly aligned wheels can cause poor handling and rapid uneven tyre wear, seriously affecting the safety of your vehicle. When you need tyre replacement, we recommend a wheel alignment too. This is also recommended after accident repairs and replacement of any steering or suspension parts.

Wheel alignment (sometimes called tracking), is the process of ensuring your vehicle’s wheels are set to the optimum position, as per the car manufacturer’s specifications. This process ensures that tyres wear evenly. Your car’s incorrect alignment can be caused by hitting a kerb, driving into a pothole in the road or by excessive wear to steering or suspension components.

Warning signs that your car’s alignment is in need of adjustment include:

  • Irregular tyre wear – on front or rear tyres
  • Heavy steering
  • Vehicle wandering and hard to keep in a straight line
  • Excessive road shock being felt through the steering wheel
  • Vehicle steering wheel not returning to centre

Correct wheel alignment will:

  • Save excessive uneven and premature tyre wear
  • Save fuel
  • Enhance cornering and general handling

Whether you’ve noticed one of these warning signs, or have a more obvious flat tyre, get in touch to arrange your tyre replacement and wheel alignment.
